Does your couch look like this picutre? Do your cushions look so lifeless and worn out over the years? This couch is only 4 years old, and to be honest, we were considering buying a new one. The saggy couch looked awful and it was an even worse place to sit! But before we traded in the old couch, I did a little internet research and figured out how to fix it! So, I’m sharing with you, the information I found and tried and giving you the guide on how to rescue your saggy couch cushions!
This project is cheap and it’s quick! We are ready to go!

Supplies Needed:
- 5-Pound Box of Poly-Fil Premium Stuffing
I got the 10-pound box. That’s WAY more than you need unless you have a bunch of projects planned that involve stuffing things!
Poly-Fil can be used to stuff a lot of things. You can always find the best coupon by looking around. Amazon has the Poly-Fil. However, it is often cheaper to go to a craft shop and use a coupon for 50% off. Here’s some links to where I found the Poly-Fil:
- Amazon
- Joann Fabrics (Use a coupon!!)
- Michaels Craft Store (Use the coupon!!
- Walmart (best price I’ve seen without a coupon! This is a 10-pound box – double the other listings for less $$)
For reference, this is what the box of Poly-Fil will look like:

Project Instructions:
Step 1: Start with your saggy couch cushions:
Ew. You see? It’s so awkward!
Step 2: Unzip Your Cushions
Step 3: Add Poly-Fil Stuffing To the Cushions

Start adding in the Poly-Fil stuffing. I didn’t take any of the old stuffing out, I simply added in more stuffing. I started with the corners of the pillows and got them all perked up, and then filled the cushions until it was just slightly a struggle to get the cushion to zip back up.
Step 4: Give the Couch Cushions a Good Pat Down

Now that you have the stuffing in the cushion, just pat/punch/massage/squeeze the pillow until it looks nice and smooth and full.
And… BOOM… you are done. Super revitalized couch!!!

Bottom Cushions:
I didn’t do anything to our bottom cushions. They’re just a little bit wrinkled but their stuffing was fine. But here is a video if that’s not the case for you! These guys show you how to fix your bottom couch cushions!
Wrap Up – How to Rescue Your Saggy Couch Cushions
And there you have it! Couch rescued and now you don’t need to go furniture shopping! This was a simple and QUICK fix to a problem that bugged me every single day. I am embarrassed to say I hadn’t thought of it until now! It was actually something we were considering buying new furniture for! But then my thriftiness finally showed! I’ll take a $20 fix over a new $2,000 couch any day! If you need help with your saggy couches, let me know! Send me photos! You can continue.
