Several Dota 2 tournament are going on as you read this. If you haven’t been paying attention to the community, now is an excellent time to start! As of right now, there’s Benaroya Hall, The Defense, and Eizo Cup. A list of upcoming Dota 2 tournaments is listed below.
Below are the Upcoming Dota 2 Tournament:
- Nexon Sponsorship League – Nexon Invitational, December 1st/2nd – Top Korean Dota 2 Teams compete for the first-ever Dota 2 tournament in Korea.
- WellPlayed Cup: The Well-Played community will host its first LAN Event at Pax Prime. Top teams are invited for a LAN tournament in Seattle on August 31st.
- ASUS Summer: ASUS will be hosting their own Dota 2 tournament online with up to 512 Teams. The qualifiers are currently happening, and the final will be played live at DreamHack, Sweden, on the 21st/22nd of August.
- ESL Pro Series Season XVII – A new Dota 2 tournament hosted by ESL. Online qualifiers are held with the top 3 teams of each cup, which will be decided on August 21st. The Dota 2 final match will be played on September 25th
- GosuCup – GosuGamers host their weekly Dota 2 tournament with a $500 total prize pool. The GosuCup has been going on for several months now and is held every Sunday
- Fragbite Masters – Fragbite hosts a Dota 2 tournament with a 500 000 SEK (~$70,000) prize pool. This will be the first time Dota 2 is hosted by Fragbite, and the qualifiers are currently running
- ESL One New York – The ESL will host their own Dota 2 tournament with a $35,000 total prize pool. The finals of this tournament will be held at the Madison Square Garden in New York City on October 3rd/4th
- DreamHack Winter – DreamHack will host their Dota 2 tournament at the DreamHack Winter 2012 held in Sweden. The prize pool is currently unknown, and there’s no other information available
- Alienware Cup- hosts a tournament with a $50,000 total prize pool. There will be eight teams from China as well as 8 international teams that have been invited, and the final match will be played on December 13th
- The International 3 – Valve usually holds the International and it has a $1,600,000 total prize pool where 25% of all TI3 sales go towards the prize pool. It’s hosted at Benaroya Hall in Seattle and the qualifiers for the event are still going on right now. The Doat 2 final match will be played on July 8th
- WPC-ACE – China’s own Dota 2 league with a 1.5million RMB (~ USD 240,000) prize pool up for grabs. Top Chinese teams compete for this massive prize pool and it’s held at Shanghai’s Cyberarena
- ESL One Frankfurt – ESL will host their own Dota 2 tournament with a $35,000 total prize pool. The Dota 2 Tournament final match will be played on June 20th in Commerzbank Arena in Frankfurt, Germany
- Asus ROG Stars Invite – A new ASUS tournament so there’s not much information currently. They will be holding qualifiers at the end of June and the final match will be played on the 28th/29th in Helsinki, Finland
- UMM UCBT Dota 2 – A tournament hosted by UK’s United Multigenre Mensa society featuring Team Dignitas’ squad vs other UK teams at London’s UCBT
- Dota 2 League: A new Dota 2 league that the GD Studio will host. The Dota 2 Tournament finals are set to be played on December 7th/8th at Dreamhack Winter 2012
- Fragbite Masters Online: Similar to the CS:GO one, but smaller. This online tournament will be held online and the finals are set to be played on December 14th/15th
- WellPlay Invitational – WellPlay’s exclusive feature Dota 2 tournament. It features 16 teams from all over the world with a $10,000 total prize pool. The qualifiers are currently running until July 18th where 8 teams will play for the finals to be played on September 7th/8th
- Dota 2 4PL Tournament – A new Dota 2 tournament hosted by the 4Players League. The Doat 2 final match will be played on August 30th at DreamHack Summer 2012
- Star Series Season 3 – Star Ladder’s third season of their top-rated tournament series. They featureue $50,000 in prizepool money and the final match will be played on October 14th/15th
The International 2: The International is usually held by Valve and it has a $1,600,000 total prize pool where 25% of all TI2 sales go towards the prize pool.
