One of my favorite family photo shoots yet has been our fall cotton field family photos at Schaefer’s Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze in Mayflower, Arkansas. No doubt, we have plenty of pumpkin patches in Arkansas. As far as I know, Shaefer’s Corn Maze is one of only a few corn mazes in Arkansas – or at least in the central Arkansas area. And it has a nice little cotton field for taking pictures.

Lori Sparkman was our long-time family photographer and suggested taking family photos. in the cotton field at Shaefer’s Pumpkin Patch inMayflower, AR was my favorite place! Mayflower is only a 40-minute drive from our house. It was nice to get out of town andArkansas Country.
This cotton field photo shoot was taken at the end October. It took place on the same day as our boho chic photo shoot. TheAlthough cotton was beginning to turn brown, it made for a great backdrop for photos of cotton fields on a sunny October Sunday.

Pink and Brown OutfitsWith Stripes
I chose pink andWe have some brown outfits this year that we can wear with a few graphic strips mixed in. It can be difficult to imagine colors that complement brown. All of my colors come on the warm side.
First, I bought both girls adorable velveteen rompers from Bailey’s Blossoms. SB’s is a rust brown and LO’s is a dusty pink.
That was my first step. inWe narrowed down the outfit colors for our fall photos. Next, I added my brown cardigan which matches to Little One’s brown romper. TheThe romper’s rust brown color and cardigan tie inNatural brown inThe cotton field.
Next Scooter Britches’ dusty pink romper was given an extra dose of pizazz with a graphic black-and-White striped shirt. This resulted in my black-striped shirt.and-White striped shirt and black pants The Hubs’ shirt is a deep burgandy-ish color which ties well with the dusty pink, and it matched the girls’ floral headbands perfectly.
I’m pretty happy with the pink andBrown color combination Matching colors is easy if you have a favorite item. andYou can then use a color wheel for a visual check. The color wheel will help you decide how bold you want your colors to be or whether you want them to remain analogous, neutral or within the same family.
This little girl is just five years old!
