There is no one fix that takes care of Terrarium TV issues. However, after several trials and errors, I was able to mitigate buffering and make my experience with the app more enjoyable. Here are the methods that I found to work for me. They will work for me, and I’m sure they will.

Check Your Internet Connection Speed

Online streaming these days requires at least 5 Mbps internet speed, but for full HD streaming at least 10mpbs and for 4K streaming, a minimum 20mbps is recommended. The good news? Most broadband and mobile internet service providers offer speeds that are higher than this. Some providers offer speed up to 100mbps, even for residential connections. At such a high speed, you may think you should never experience Terrarium TV buffering issues. But, sadly, that’s not always the case.

If you are running into Terrarium TV buffering problems only rarely, there is a chance your internet is experiencing some intermittent issues from your provider’s end. These cases are usually resolved at the backend, and can be short-lived.

I would recommend you to check your internet connection speed to determine if you have the minimum bandwidth. You can test the speed of your internet connection using many websites and apps. Ookla is one of the most popular speed testing websites. You can download Ookla app on your Android or iOS device or visit their website thegoneapp.com/ to test the speed.

If you see low speeds, it could indicate that your internet connection is not working properly. You may need to upgrade your plan or your router. You can contact your ISP to resolve the problem.

Stream from Terrarium TV Recommended Servers

Terrarium TV fetches the streaming links from dozens of servers stationed worldwide. However, the app does recommend some servers. Below is a list of recommended servers.

I have personally experienced that these servers are faster and I barely experience any Terrarium TV buffering issues.

You will see the pop-up when you click on the title. You can check ‘Don’t show again’ option on the bottom so that it doesn’t appear the next time. Before I checked this option, I made a note of all the recommended servers because I knew I won’t be able to remember all of them. You should do the same.

Terrarium TV Server Issues

If your internet speed is not a problem and you are still facing Terrarium TV issues then it seems there could be a problem with the server where the content is hosted.

As you may know, Terrarium TV does not host any content of its own. This app is an aggregator that fetches multiple links to a particular content from various servers. When you open a link, your device starts attempting to stream the content from the server the link is pointing to.

Terrarium TV tries to bring the best working links. Sometimes, it also shows the worst links. Bad links could indicate a server downtime or slowdown. As a result, you encounter Terrarium TV buffering problems.

When there is a problem with the server, there isn’t a lot you can do to fix the buffering. However, what you can do is open another link to another server and there is a fair chance you will have taken care of the problem.

I have noticed that the Terrarium TV problems usually come up when I am trying to stream a full HD content. And, it has nothing to do with my internet speed or the capability of my device to stream online HD movies or shows; the problem is with the server which is incapable of handling multiple streaming requests.

Use the Right Media Player with Terrarium TV

Terrarium TV does not have a media player of its own. You must have noticed that when you run Terrarium TV, it asks you to install a preferred media player for better streaming performance. The app warns you that the preferred player may cause buffering problems.

When I first started using Terrarium TV, I would ignore the pop-ups asking me to get a different media player. I thought it wouldn’t be necessary. But, then I started noticing that Terrarium TV is not working properly and I am running into buffering issues regularly. That’s when I decided to install the media player of Terrarium TV’s picking. Although I was proved wrong, I will admit that the performance was noticeably better. Many links that had been buffered previously ran smoothly after the player was installed.

While Terrarium TV is compatible with several media players including VLC and MX Player, it may still ask you to install a different player. In fact, the latest version of Terrarium TV does not stream any links if you do not have the YesPlayer (see the image below).

So, install YesPlayer and you may be able to take care of the Terrarium TV buffering problems. You can download this media player from the Amazon Store and Play Store.

Use A VPN and Avoid Internet Throttling

Do you know that a lot of internet users in the United States become the victim of internet throttling and they are never even aware of it? Internet throttling (ISP) is a common practice.

If online streaming consumes the biggest part of your online activity, your ISP may cut down the internet speed to less than what’s offered with your internet plan. I’m not saying this is illegal. It is, however, unethical. Usually, the ISPs have a clause in their Terms & Conditions that states that the amount of data usage due to online streaming increasing below a certain value may result in the cutting down of the speed.

We often overlook the fine print. And, even if I did read the clause, I would still want to enjoy the internet to its full potential. Thankfully, there is a way to prevent internet throttling. You can mask your internet activities by using a VPN service. It will hide all your internet activity, so your ISP won’t know that you are downloading data files or watching online movies.

I have been using ExpressVPN for a while and recommend the same to you. It is fast, reliable and Terrarium TV friendly.

Clear the Terrarium TV App Data

There is one more Terrarium TV troubleshooting you could try to avoid the buffering issues. You could clear the Terrarium TV data and restore it to the default settings. It would be as if you are using Terrarium TV for the first time.

Clearing data will result in losing all of your personal settings. But, there are barely any Terrarium TV settings that need to be retained. Keep track of all changes and make any necessary adjustments later.

While we are at it, I also recommend clearing the Terrarium TV cache while deleting the data. A cache-cleared app could work wonders.

If you are using Terrarium TV on Android, open Settings and go to Apps option (the path may vary slightly across devices). Select Terrarium TV and tap the buttons to clear the data and cache.

If you are using Terrarium TV on FireStick, here is how to clear the data and cache:

#1. Select Settings (on the top bar) from the home screen

#2. Click ‘Applications’

#3. Scroll down and open ‘Manage Installed Applications’

#4. Scroll down all the way and click ‘Terrarium TV’. As you can see in the image below, Data size is 40.82 MB and Cache is 110 MB

WRAPPING UP

I hope this article helped you take care of the Terrarium TV buffering issues. Even though Terrarium TV is an incredibly popular app for on-demand content, the servers it fetches the streams from may not always be great. If buffering is a problem, the server problem may be more prevalent than any other issue on your internet connection. For me, choosing another stream is usually the best option. After all, that’s the beauty of Terrarium TV – bringing multiple links at one place. If you are facing similar issues on Kodi too, don’t forget to check out possible fixes for Kodi buffering.
