Most of the time for prom, you as the photographer, don’t have much of a say in where the pictures are actually taken. Although a beautiful park with lots of light is always a good idea, I love to shoot prom pictures in places that aren’t obvious.
A stunning prom dress can change the look of an image dramatically. These are some examples of how to make your image stand out. Where to take prom photos:
1-Beautiful building
2-One flight of stairs

4- Park Bench

6-If possible, you should inspect the area and locate shade if there is any danger from the sun.

How do I pose teens to take prom pictures?
11To capture their emotions and personalities, make sure you take many candid photos in between the posed shots. Ask them to share a hug with you or to laugh together. This will encourage candid photos.

13Posing girls in photos isn’t as difficult as you might think. When I take a single photo of a prom, I prefer to have the whole length shot first and then wrap my arms around their hips.
14As I take closer shots, I’ll have them bring their hands closer towards their face.
15Then, I ask them to touch their faces or lay over their heads.
16 Always be aware of how a dress is laying and make sure it isn’t too revealing the way you have them posed.

17Guys want to appear tough and cool. It’s easy to cross your arms while standing straight or in a V-shape.

22- CouplesSometimes high school couples can be difficult to get along with. You want to make sure they don’t look like engagement pictures. Keep them natural and simple. They can also be made to stand in a pair by having them take a few images of each other and then sit down in one. They can hold hands, or place their hands around the waists of each other.
