We first tried this fun drawing activity way back when my kids were all little (this post is updated from the original published in September 2012), and we’ve done it so many times over the years with so many different kids of different ages, and each time it is a hit.

Sometimes, I just draw a few frames on a piece of paper and everyone gets to work. This is a great activity for a group birthday party!), and other times I’ve drawn individual frames on paper for each child to you. But to make this activity really quick and easy I’ve created this set of printable picture frame drawing prompts, so all you need to do is print and go!

They can also be used to keep kids busy in waiting rooms or while they travel. You can laminate a few pages, or use dry erase pockets and chalk marker pens to reuse the frames.

These frames are great for drawing with pencils and markers. But you can also create collages using watercolors, pastels, or other art supplies.
